The Antenatal Clinic in Zomba, Malawi, Africa enjoyes a long ongoing and well established relationship to the Coleraine Borough Council and is appropriately named Coleraine Clinic.
The Northern Trust has hosted Norriah Affonsa, a midwife from Zomba for the past three months. Miss Affonsa was sponsored to come to Ireland by Coleraine Borough Council through the 'Zomba' project. She spent some time with the Coleraine Community Midwives gaining experience. Before returning to Malawi Miss Affonsa was presented with scales and monitors to take back to the Coleraine Clinic in Zomba and was delighted also to receive equipment from MDI Medical to use in her antenatal clinic in Zomba.
Miss Affonso was presented with a fetal Huntleigh Obstetric Doppler and Welch Allyn Sphygmomanometer blood pressure monitor by Caroline Delacy from MDI Medical.
